A traditional dessert typical of the countries of Turkey, Greece, the Middle East, the Balkans and North Africa. Baklava is made from thin slices of filo pastry, filled with a variety of nuts and topped with a sweet honey syrup. Baklava should be crisp on the outside and soft underneath.
Ingredients: dough (wheat flour, water, corn starch, salt, preservative E202), vegetable oil, ghee, syrup (milk, sugar), pistachios.
Minimum shelf life: 7 days - room temperature
